Objective:To elucidate the potential biological role and clinical significance of long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)NR_027783 in colorectal cancer(CRC).Methods:Sixty-eight pairs of CRC tumorous and adjacent non-tumorous tissues were collected to determine the expression level of NR_027783 by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.The blood samples were also collected from CRC patients and healthy controls.The relationship between NR_027783 expression level and clinical characteristics of CRC patients was analyzed.Furthermore,both lentivirus and small interfering RNA transfection were employed to evaluate the potential functions of NR_027783 in the development of CRC.Results:We found that the expression levels of NR_027783 in CRC patients were significantly down-regulated.which is associated with lymph node metastasis and progressive stage.In vitro mechanistic investigations showed that over-expression of NR_027783 inhibited the malignant phenotype of CRC cells.Meanwhile,migration and invasion of CRC cells were promoted remarkably when NR_027783 expression was down-regulated.Conclusion:The expression of lncRNA NR_027783 was correlated with the malignant behavior of CRC,which may serve as a novel predictor of prognosis for CRC patients.
